dismantling the moon

The workers were outside my window dismantling these discarded furniture from the residents..they smashed these things that once used to sit in someone's flat, that once had a role to play in someone's home. They started taking on a new form, a dismantled, broken down form made up of pieces of wood, metal and glass. The banging from the dismantling made it impossible for me to record any music...then i thought i would record the noise. I sent the noise sample to Jon Duncan and he played this over. I used some of my drawings to make this clip. We call it Dismantling The Moon.

Joo - drawings, noise sample
Jon - twelve string guitar, baritone ukulele, wooden frog percussion

I wrote a song called Sampan! in 2015, based on a true story my mother told me. Sampan is a flat bottomed Chinese wooden boat. Here is the video, with some cartoons on white board. :)

white robe

This is a song written by Ben McKinnon. I recorded it today with Jon Duncan and Kevin Griffin, and used some old paintings to make the video.

you must unload

You Must Unload is credited to Blind Alfred Reed, fiddler/songwriter from West Virginia, who recorded it during the Historic Bristol Sessions in 1927. I recorded it with Jon Duncan and Kevin Griffin today, and made a video for it with some illustrations from sometime ago.
