my sister Rose

An original song I wrote in 2015.

My sister Rose has a heart of gold

And ruby and sapphire But I wonder why they think the heart could be metal When it breaks and cracks and cries and sobs When I was young I kneaded my heart into a stone I shoveled my fears and nightmares into a hole I covered the darkness with lies and flowers And abyss of sorrow too afraid to show After the rain the soil starts to loosen The mask crumbles and roots crawl out of the hole The heart's no metal The heart's no stone She wants to come out to play and say Hello me - voice, baritone ukulele, paintings Kevin - steel string tenor ukulele, mixing Check out Kevin's music here
