I had my first crochet workshop at Doinky Doodles! today. R and H came in with all smiles and ready to learn the basics of crochet. They had never really crochet before so the results of the short session were really good!!! This is what they made:
E said that the button-eyed pirate was very H, and H commented that the yellow kid was very E. I think that is just great! :D
I will be conducting an informal drawing workshop at Doinky Doodles! this October. Doinky Doodles! is a shop set up by artist Weng Pixin in May 2008 featuring house-label Doinky Doodles!' handmade art constructed using 100% recycled materials. The shop also showcases a selection of handmade art and goods by crafters and artists living in Singapore. A few months ago, Pixin converted a corner of the shop into a space for sewing workshops. So far she has had a few sessions there, and has also invited other crafters and artists to share their experience there. I believe mine is the first drawing workshop. I am feeling excited and looking forward to it.

The workshop space
I will be showing what I have learnt when I myself try to draw a portrait. Oh yes, it is a portraiture workshop. But we will be drawing the PERSON, not just the FACE. Sometimes, the FACE we see is not really the PERSON behind it, as all of us already know. Face-we can see. Person-harder to see. So I figured it will be
more fun to try to draw the Person, rather than just the Face. If you happen to be reading this and are interested to find out more about this workshop, click
