Hands
In front of The Jungle Tandoor restaurant in Little India a few days ago. I saw this scene that looked funny to me, and I quickly took out my camera. For a second( or a fraction of a second) they both looked up at me...I think when I put the camera to my eye it was too obvious. But they quickly went back to their own business-he to his phone, she to her daydreaming. When I came home and looked at it I noticed MORE hands in this photo, which I hadn't realised, and which delighted me.
I put these drawings on the wall of
Room For Dessert about a month or more ago. These are one of the many things I
make while taking a break from my work/projects. These characters were painted inspired by the different food-coloring in cakes or ice-cream. (thanks D for letting me mess around in your shop space!)
There are little surprises hiding everywhere in our city. In the shadows, I saw a pigeon taking shelter under a lorry, and two men up in the sky.
I like the colours of the fruit stalls and the women's dresses.
The way he displays his dazzling wares.
His weighing scale of that lovely green.
I love the way they made this sign.
That "Millennium" style- so cool.
And this sign too-peeling gloriously in the hot sun and the rain.
I don't like that posters are not allowed.
But I still like this poster.
And this...
And this...
After a while, you realise that everything here is about some competitions that
involve money, money, money-I wonder what they are competing for.
What else?
Let us turn our eyes to the 2 men in the sky.
And the pigeon resting in the shade.
