a drawing I made for my sister last year, who just treated herself to a nice pair of spectacle frames. I hope that she can take things easy and indulge in treats like that MORE often! ...instead of working her ass off for other people all the time!

some drawings I made on a cake box (before it gets folded to become the box). I took this photo at Doinky Doodles!, a shop that specialises in reconstructing works from fabric discards. I have given these drawings to Doinky Doodles! for them to recycle, like 2 years ago, and they still have it! These drawings are the characters from the visual document I AM BRINSLEY BIVOUAC, which I had made based on Kelvin Tan's novel, All Broken Up and Dancing. In the background is a kid's tee by Doinky Doodles!, and a dog poster by me.

This comic is something I have just started working on. The Rickety Cat character is based on a stuffed toy by Doinky Doodles!, made by Weng Pixin. In this comic, Rickety Cat is a rather pessimistic fellow. But he will cheer up and perhaps see the world differently soon. I am doing more comics.

I am currently working on a series of new comics which feature creations by Doinky Doodles!  For those of you who have not heard of Doinky Doodles!, it is a place where fabric discards get transformed into quirky, wonky, funny, lovely and wonderful creations. This comic features the BANANA SLUG and JENNY.

I love the banana slugs cuz they are

" detritivores, or decomposers. They process leaves, animal droppings, and dead plant material, and then recycle them into soil humus[1]. They seem to have a fondness for mushrooms, and they spread seeds and spores when they eat, and excrete a nitrogen rich fertilizer.[7][8] By consuming detritus (dead organic matter) slugs contribute to decomposition and the nutrient cycles[9] and are an important aspect of the ecosystem." (taken from the Wikipedia)

Cool right?
Below are the original Doinky Doodles! Creations.

Reason To Indulge
Christmas is approaching:). For the few of you who look at my blog,  I would like to recommend a wonderful cake shop, Room For Dessert, which sells  very nice cakes. I never had a sweet tooth before, but I have grown to really enjoy the RFD cakes. They are not too sweet. And they have eggless cakes too. Do visit them when you are thinking of ordering cakes for this Christmas! See you later! ( I made a few versions of the above comics for RFD, not a commissoned job, just something I did for fun, after eating their cakes. Anyway if you visit the shop you can see the rest of the versions on the wall, hehe)
